Injured teens can be impaired by depression, stress (Reuters)

Reuters - After a serious injury, some teenagers suffer from depression and anxiety that can eventually interfere with their daily lives, researchers have found.

Nutritional supplements are an important aspect of maintaining health, wellness, and vitality. However, many people are surprised to learn that many nutritional supplements are created using synthetic ingredients.

Natural ingredients versus synthetic ingredients are a very controversial topic amongst those who use nutritional supplements for the maintenance of their health. One of the controversies revolves around the fact that natural vitamins contain an element known as micronutrients. Micronutrients are smaller nutrients that reside in vitamins. These are naturally occurring and typically include iron, manganese, zinc, copper, molybdenum, boron, and chlorine. When vitamins are formulated using natural whole food sources, these micronutrients are often found in the final nutritional supplement. However, when nutritional supplements are created from synthetic materials, these micronutrients are absent from the final nutritional supplement.

The question regarding natural versus synthetic vitamins rests in the question of stevia dosages side effects reviews or not both contain the same molecular structure. Some people make the argument that they both are identical in molecular compounds, however the absence of micronutrients in the synthetic form, leads one to conclude that they are in fact different.

The simple truth of the matter is that natural whole foods are very complex. They are often the product of interdependent relationship within the vitamin. Synthetic forms cannot effectively reproduce these relationships. For example, Vitamin C is usually sold as purely being Ascorbic Acid. In synthetic forms of Vitamin C, Ascorbic Acid is the only ingredient being sold. However, in its natural whole foods form, Vitamin C consists of more than just Ascorbic Acid. Natural forms of Vitamin C contain Bioflavonoids and Tyrosinase. These compounds play a vital role in ensuring that the Vitamin delivers 100% of its health benefits.

Another drawback to consider when using synthetic vitamins instead of natural whole foods vitamins is the fact that many synthetic vitamins are derived from sources that are not living. For example, synthetic Vitamin B is derived from coal tar, a non-living substance that is not easily tolerated by the body. An example of natural Vitamin B includes wheat germ, a very easily digestible and healthy source.

Because of the ingredients that are used to create synthetic vitamins, many people may develop allergies or sensitivities to these compounds. Therefore, it is preferable to use natural whole food vitamins. These vitamins cause fewer allergies and reactions in chemically sensitive people. Many people agree that choosing natural whole food sources is more beneficial than synthetic forms.
